Have you noticed, in the evening skies, that very often one star shines brighter than the rest? In the South Shore Women’s Business Network we have so many “bright stars”. The membership team has chosen to recognize these shining stars through our “Networking Novas” program. Every month since March of this year, the Network has been recognizing two Novas each month. You have read about our Novas in the Breakfast and Luncheon Event Directories and we will also start featuring our Novas in this monthly newsletter. Networking Novas are chosen because they have what it takes to be
a great networker. Novas generally attend SSWBN events regularly, they
serve the Network by being on a team, serving as a vacillator or mentor,
or giving back in some capacity. Novas are the ones smiling a little
more brightly at a Networking function, the ones who make it a point
to welcome guests, the ones who are really maximizing their membership
in the Network. If you know someone who exemplifies the qualities of
a Nova, please take a moment to nominate that person, either
by filling out the nomination paper that is part of the packet at Networking
Events, email the name of your nominee to info@SSWBN.org or
else contact Judy Walsh Rodriguez, Membership Team Chair at judy@watchall.com 781-331-9022. Judy Walsh Rodriguez, Watchall Steve Certa, Watch All |
I can’t believe Summer is almost over, and it’s back to school time! Well at least we’ve got the beautiful September weather to look forward to… get out there and go for a walk if you can! While some of us were out enjoying Summer others were out there making Connections also! Rosemarie K. Lanchester of RKL Business Associates and Send Out Cards would like to thank Janet LaBerge of Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap for helping her by removing items from her yard. "Janet is a Godsend! She made such a difference in my day by helping me clean up my property." Rosemarie would also like to thank Janet for being a guest on her weekly radio show called "Connect" on WATD 95.9 fm Saturday mornings at 10:30 am. Rosemarie would also like to thank Attorney Mark Greene, whom she met at the Rustic Kitchen lunch when Mark first joined the Network. Rosemarie recently hired Mark and since they have their radio shows in common they have become friends as well. “One of the best parts of networking is developing friendships and doing great business together!” Rosemarie also thanks Priscilla Chura, Small Biz CFO for referring her to a client in NY City. She was brought in to evaluate their credit card processing and is happy to be able to lower their fees as well as providing better service overall. Jane Ford of Work for Wellness would like to thank several network members who have helped her this summer. First kudos go to Janet Doyle of Professional Bookkeeping Services who provided great training in how to set up QuickBooks by classes which now enables Jane to really understand the finances of her businesses. Next, thanks to Stacey Shipman of Let it Flow for introducing Jane to Healing Tree Yoga where Jane is going to be doing a healthy home workshop in September. Jane has a double thank you for Yael Friedman at The Bodywork Center. First for her enthusiasm in partnering to create new workshops which Jane will facilitate at her Yael’s center this fall. And second, for the massage gift certificate that Jane won at a network breakfast. In her words “I received one of the best massages ever from Melinda at the Bodywork Center – and it’s not going to be my last.” Finally, a special thank you to Lisa Marie Williams at Lisa Marie’s Boutique for providing such professional and timely alterations – and always with a bright smile. Kathy Keyes of Pinkerton Consulting & Investigations wants to thank Attorney Mark Greene “for referring a case to my office.” And finally, I would like to thank Nadine Pfautz of C.H.A.R.T. Consulting for giving a great testimonial for me at a surprise presentation, for helping me figure out who an “ideal client” would be, and for actually being one of those ideal clients after all! Here is this month’s thought-provoking item: What if there were no hypothetical questions? Lois Wood |
