How wonderful for the Philharmonic to have such a committed and proactive board member! As for me (Gretje Ferguson, Photographer), I have been awarded a contract by the Cancer Center at Mass General Hospital to photograph some of their cancer patients for the walls of their new facility. This should be a wonderful and challenging experience, both artistically and emotionally. You can see some of my previous work with cancer patients at www.gfergphoto.com/canc1.html Please send me your news at gretje@gfergphoto.com. We'd all love to hear from you! |
Thanks to summer and thanks to this month’s contributors to the Connections Column! Keep sending them in! Bettyanne Lang, Interfaith Social Services, www.interfaithsocialservices.org, sends her many thanks to Carl Menconi and Judy Davis, Integrated Massage Therapies, for donating their time to give neck massages at the 31st annual South Shore Walk to benefit Interfaith Social Services. Says Bettyanne "Once again their expertise was a great hit! They gave up a Sunday afternoon to help out". Bettyanne also wishes to thank everyone who responded to her plea for clothes for Interfaith Social Services' Career Closet. She reports that the recipients were pleased with the variety of sizes and reminds us that gently worn clothing is always welcome. And last, but clearly not least, to Julie Foley, The Consultant of Style, Bettyanne says "I can't thank you enough for all you have done and are doing to help the clients of the Career Closet. Julie is a kind and gentle person who is able to give a great deal of confidence to women who are lacking in self-esteem. Through her workshops and suggestions to the staff, we are able to better fill the need of our clients." And thank you Bettyanne for all you do for those in need on the South Shore! Rosemarie Lanchester, RKL Associates, sends her thanks to Pricilla Chura, Small Biz CFO, for her referral of Keohane Funeral Services. Says Rosemarie "This will be a great account and I am very grateful!" Lois Wood, Lois Wood Communications, www.lwcommunications.com, has become a networking diva and has several new clients to show for it. Lois wishes to thank the following businesses: Nadine Pfautz, SPHR, for her brochure and business card design project; Tom & Reiko Beach, TRB Designs, who hired her to design a logo; Lisa Rooney, LRB Direct, for hiring Lois to design her new website; and Linda Merrill, Chameleon Interiors, who selected Lois to design a chameleon-like change of her logo! Gretje Ferguson, Gretje Ferguson Photography, www.gfergphoto.com, challenges anyone who hasn't had a massage from Carl Menconi, Integrated Massage Therapies, to get on over there as fast as their aching little bodies can carry them. "Carl has given me the best massages I've ever had," Gretje says. "The aches and pains that I assumed I had to live with are disappearing! As a massage therapist, he is an artist." And I wish to thank Wayne Cerra, Total Exposure Home Inspection, for his advice and counsel on how to resolve an ongoing flooding problem in my condo. He offered several ideas, with pros and cons, on how to fix this nasty problem. It was so nice to know I could rely on his advice to be both professional and impartial. I also wish to thank Lois Wood, LW Communications, for creating my beautiful new logo. She listened to my ideas and incorporated what I thought was important in creating my new look, while also opening me up to some new ideas and helping me with all the technical stuff. Check out my website for my new "look"! Don’t forget to send your thanks for referrals and work well done as soon as you think of them. Happy Labor Day everyone! Linda Merrill |
