sswbn logoCalling All Stars:  SSWBN The Networking Nova Program

Each month the Network recognizes two"Networking Novas". These are members who exemplify SSWBN’s core values:  contacts, coaching, and collaboration.  Novas maximize their membership in the Network by attending and being visible at networking events, by serving the Network, and by utilizing the Network to grow their own business and helping others to do the same. You can nominate a members for nova recognition by calling the Network office at:  781-749-8883.

October 2007 Novas:

Mark Greene of Mark Greene Associates, Attorneys & Counselors at Law, joined the Network a year ago.  He says "I suppose the reason I joined was similar to other business owners, in that it seemed a good venue to meet other professionals with similar concerns on how to operate a successful business."  Hands down, Mark most enjoys the Network luncheons and breakfast.  These events have been opportunities for him to make connections to grow his business and to help others do the same.  In addition to his law practice, Mark is the host of WATD radio show "What About That Law".  Often, Mark invites other Network members to make guest appearances on his show.

In addition to his attendance at lunches, breakfasts, and other Network events, Mark also takes the time to serve on SSWBN Professional Development Team – a group within the Network that strives to provide educational programs for the membership and the community at-large.

In his Mark’s words, "I have never before been involved with such a group of genuinely warm and welcoming professionals, which has in turn led to friendships being established, and subsequently growth in my business."  Mark,  your enthusiasm for the Network and your willingness to give back make you a perfect choice for our October Networking Nova.

Jeanie Runey of Jeanie Communications, rejoined the Network in March, after a 10-year hiatus. Her business was fairly stable, with the work finding her. In January 07, a large, 5-year project ended, and Jeanie needed to do more marketing/networking. Plus, the work she had been doing was very isolating and Jeanie was missing the camaraderie of working with others.  She attended a luncheon in Plymouth with SSWBN member, Diane Sargent and as Jeanie says she "was astounded by the energy, excitement and enthusiasm. I decided that day to join, and trust me, I made the right decision."

Since joining the Network, Jeanie has attended every luncheon and breakfast. She recently joined the Networking Team because of her belief that it's important to give back. Jeanie also pursued getting onto a SSWBN business roundtable, which for her is a great way to get to know others and get feedback on issues she faces as a business owner.

When Jeanie joined the Network, she made the decision to participate as fully as possible. The bonus is that she is getting to know other members and she’s building her business. In her own words, Jeanie says, "I am honored and delighted to be named a Networking Nova."  Jeanie the recognition is well deserved, congratulations.
