Movin'
On Up By Jayne Pelosi

Good
news! You now have until the 20th of the month to get me your success
stories! And here are this month's movers and shakers:
In
late September, Nadine Pfautz of C.H.A.R.T. Consulting became
an adjunct professor at Eastern Nazarene College in Quincy. Nadine
began teaching a 10-week, 3-credit, Human Resource Management certification
course for adult students; many of whom have significant years experience
in management in general, and in the field of Human Resources in particular.
Big things are happening for Rosemarie Lanchester this
season! Rosemarie Lanchester of Sendoutcards.com will
be involved with a new cable TV show, the "Laura Sheridan Show" filmed
at the Comcast Studios in Norwell. It will be an uplifting show
supporting women in business. Rosemarie and her Sendoutcards.com Sponsor,
Jeanne White, had their first "Business After Hours" in
Dedham on September 28 at the lovely meeting room facility where Jeanne
lives at the Jefferson Apartments in Dedham. The "Business
After Hours" will be showcased as the first "Field Trip",
which will be a regular segment of the Laura Sheriden Show airing monthly
on cable access Channel 9. Rosemarie and Jeanne are delighted to be
part of the regular production 'crew' as the camera 'queens', sporting
tiaras and supporting the guests! Finally, Rosemarie and Jeanne were
featured on the Healthy Living Radio show with Candita on WATD 95.9
radio on Oct 1 to talk about their new venture Sendoutcards.com.
Kathleen Burns Kingsbury of KBK Connections was
recently honored in Maryland at the National Eating Disorders Association
Conference as "Volunteer of the Year" due to her role as
the annual Chairperson for the National Eating Disorders Awareness Week.
For more information, please check out www.nationaleatingdisorders.org.
Ann Marie Williams of Atmosphere Consulting was featured
in The Globe and on NECN in October. The article & TV segment "Organizer
Finds Calm Amid Closets' Chaos" discussed the organizing industry,
Atmosphere's services and specifically a "how to" for closet
organizing.
Stacey Shipman of Let it Flow was recently interviewed
by the Patriot Ledger for the South Shore Entrepreneur Column. The
article ran on September 4. The reporter found her on the SSWBN website!
This past August, Stacey Shipman presented a workshop on "Managing
Your Stress" to 200 attendees at a direct sales conference in
London. This was her first international speaking engagement!
Una Barrett of Gentle Giant Moving Company is proud
to announce that Gentle Giant has won the Better Business Bureau International
Torch Award for Marketplace Ethics. An independent panel
of business ethics experts singled out Gentle Giant from among more
than 1,000 contenders across North America based on its exemplary business
ethics. "Gentle Giant has an outstanding reputation in the marketplace,"
Steve Cole, president and CEO of the Council of Better Business Bureaus.
"They are a shining example of how businesses that do the right thing
have a real competitive advantage. Their high standards of excellence
and commitment to integrity have created highly loyal customers and
employees, which will serve them well as they expand into new major
markets across the country."
Artist Jill
Flynne has
been invited to join and exhibit at the Gallery of New England
Artisans in Wolfeboro, New Hampshire. Additionally,
Jill’s painting of "Teddy" has been accepted into
the juried show "The Artist and the Animal" being
held on Nov.3-5 2006 in Old Lyme, Conn. The show is sponsored by Pet
Connections; a non-profit committed to the rescue and the responsible
placement of homeless and abandoned animals. The jury consisted of 8
internationally known animal & wildlife artists and sculptors. Jill
will go as a VIP guest to the exhibition’s opening night gala
on Friday, Nov. 3, to enjoy the art, as well as the food, wine and music
and will be recognized with a special listing on the art show website
as well as in the art show catalog. Over 500 copies of the catalog will
be printed and placed in the hands of our guests over the exhibition
weekend. With the art show, they bring together a great group of patrons – from
animal lovers to art enthusiasts. In past years, Pet Connections has
welcomed over 600 guests to the show.
Congrats to all of the members who are doing great things and getting
recognized for it! Again, submit your good news by the 20th of every
month. Would love to hear from you!

Connections by
Lois Wood
|
Kimberly
Locke of Constitution
Advertising, Inc. would
like to thank Elizabeth Pineault of Elizabeth
A. Pineault, CPA, for
picking Kim to do all their giveaways for the upcoming Expo. She
would also like to thank Watch
All Pest Management and
the SSWBN office
for their continued business.
Nadine Pfautz of C.H.A.R.T Consulting would
like to thank Paula Harris of WH Cornerstone Investments for
taking the time to meet to talk about volunteerism and how those personally rewarding
opportunities can also be used for networking, business, and professional development. Thanks
to Paula, Nadine was also able to participate in a teleclass on this subject.
Nadine would also like to commend the SSWBN for
facilitating the creation of the Business Roundtables. The insight
gained and the accountability for accomplishing certain monthly stretch goals
has proven to be valuable in just a few short months.
Kathleen Burns Kingsbury of KBK
Connections wants
to thank all the members of the Professional Development Team for being so nice
and welcoming at her first two meetings. She would also like to thank Stacey
Shipman of Let It Flow for
her "enthusiasm and referrals to my Fishing for Referrals Workshop on 10/6/06."
Rosemarie K. Lanchester of RKL Associates and Sendoutcards.com would
like to thank Pat Masters of TaxLadyEA for
her Sendoutcards account. Pat is someone who hand-wrote out 2000 cards
per year, and now she is enjoying the freedom of this online computer driven
system and very grateful for the functionality which is saving her tons of time
and $$.
Susan Hammond of CFO
Strategies would
like to thank Julie Foley, The Consultant
of Style for
her expert advice. "Julie made order out of my closet and launched
me into the Fall with a great new look!"
Lisa Rayberg of The Cleaning Company would like to thank Raquel
Mullaney of Comfort Keepers, Terry
Anderson of Mayflower Cleanpro and Janet
LaBerge of Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap for
the referrals last month to their clients in need of cleaning services.
Theresa Narus of Eastern
Bank wants
to thank Lori Murphy/Canavan of Bryantville Deli in Pembroke
so much for everything she did at the After Hours Event. "Everyone
raved about the food and the service. I so appreciate all the effort and
thoughtfulness she put into it. Her efforts helped to make the evening a terrific
success for everyone."
Jayne Pelosi of Renaissance
Interior Design wants
to thank Ellie Pechet of Phoenix
Rising Healing for
providing her with some much needed perspective. Jayne was getting anxious
because her house was for sale in a very "down" real estate market. Jayne
visited Ellie last April and asked her what she saw with respect to her house
selling. Jayne states "while it wasn't what I wanted to hear, Ellie
said that she didn't see my house selling 'til early Fall. She was right
on target. We got our offer in late August and closed in mid September.
Her perspective helped me basically detach from the daily waiting and stressing,
thereby allowing me to focus on other things - like my work!"
Jayne would also like to thank Donnalee Lacasse of Reliv for
introducing Jayne to Reliv. "In the 8 weeks I have been taking it,
my skin has cleared noticeably, my
blood pressure has gone down and a weird little thing on my forehead,
that I was going to have removed, disappeared. The shakes are tasty
and can travel with you during the day. As my husband says 'if we can't
rationalize spending $2.50 day on our health, where ARE we spending
our money?'"
Finally Jayne would also like to thank Jane
Ford for bringing Melaleuca cleaning products
into her home. "This could be a scary visual, but I actually clean
my tub while I am taking a shower. The products are so pure and
non-toxic and only smell fresh and clean. I am not afraid to get them
on my skin. I scrub my tub and shower while my conditoner is sinking
in!"
Carol Rio of Pillsbury
Florist would
like to thank Jayne Pelosi of Renaissance Interior
Design for helping her decorate the lovely hospitality area in her new
floral boutique at 685 N. Bedford St, Kris-Jons Plaza, E. Bridgewater. Carol said "Now
I have a beautiful space to sit with wedding parties or any other families planning
special events that need flowers. It looks like a cozy salon". Carol
would also like to thank Julie Foley the Consultant
of Style for
offering complimentary 10 minute wardrobe consultations at Carol's Open
House on October 28. "It's so great to have every resource I could possibly
need right here in our Network".
And I, Lois Wood, would
like to thank Yael Friedmann of The
Bodywork Center. I
worked on her marketing materials, and she worked on some of my chronic
pain spots in shoulder and neck etc. wow! Knots I’ve
had for years just disappeared... Yael’s new Center is wonderful,
she’s just opening and has tons of energy! It’s got
beautiful relaxing massage rooms, and Yael does all sorts of therapeutic
treatments, she’s
got lots of knowledge, and a great personality. Go check out her
brand new space in Hingham Center! We wish her the best of luck
with this new venture.
Look at all the Connections that are being made in our Network! Isn’t
it great? In the words of the Dalai Lama: "If you help and serve
others, you will ultimately gain."
