Well,
since I write this column, I get to start with My News: I became a grandmother
to Sophie Regina on March 16th! She's a beautiful little girl who was
born to my daughter, Lisa. See her first photo at www.gfergphoto.com/sophie.jpg.
Joanie Winberg of Success and Life Coaching is celebrating the launch
of her new website. Have a look at www.successandlifecoaching.com.
Congratulations, Joanie! It looks wonderful.
South Shore artist Jill Flynne (Jill Flynne Designs, www.jillflynnedesigns.com)
was selected by the South Shore Natural Science Center as the featured
artist to show her works at the Vine Hall Gallery during the Center's
Spring Flower Show in March. Jill's show, titled "Floral Inspirations," appeared
at the gallery for five weeks. One particular work has also been chosen
to represent the Center and the show on the promotional materials, including
the official invitations.
Jill also tells reports that, as well as doing fine art work for the
Scituate Gallery, she has licensed her artwork to a company that reproduces
it onto home decor items, such as trays, trivets, and cheeseboards.
Jill has been working with Paige Stover Hague (The Ictus Initiative, www.ictusinitiative.com)
and her staff the past couple of months and says she is thrilled with
the website and branding they have done!
Please send your latest and greatest exploits to me at Gretje@gfergphoto.com.
I'd love to hear from you.

It's
Spring! And aside from the 3 feet of snow still piled against my front
porch - it's even beginning to feel like it. Something for which we
are all thankful! Speaking of thanks, I would like to thank some very
special friends here at the network for responding so quickly to my
request for donations for the upcoming South Shore Habitat for Humanity
12th Annual Auction and Birdhouse Sale. We are all involved in worthwhile
charities and there are a lot of requests for donations throughout the
year, so I am especially grateful to: Sharon Fisher,
COME to ORDER, Professional Organizing Services and Jayne Pelosi,
Renaissance Interior Design for their gift certificates for their services; Katie
Howard,
Cohasset Harbor & Resort, for a gift certificate to the fabulous
Atlantica Restaurant; and Lois Wood, Lois Wood Communications,
for offering her artistic skills by painting a birdhouse; and Theresa
Narus, Eastern
Bank, for making a quilt for the auction; and my thanks go to Paula & Bill
Harris, WH Cornerstone Investments, for donating a group tour package
to Duxburys' Alden House Historic Site & Museum. I will be donating
a gift certificate for my design services as well as painting a birdhouse.
The Birdhouse Sale will take place at the South Shore Plaza April 29th-
May 1st. The Annual Gala and Auction is May 7th at Reebok World Headquarters
in Canton. If anyone would like to make a donation to this worthwhile
cause, please just let me know.
Phyllis Wenzel, Image Resolutions, www.imageresolutions.com, sends
her thanks to the following folks for their continued business: Tiffanie
Williams & Co., Nautilus Printing, Watch-All Pest Management, Mary
Lou's Coffee, Lois Wood Communication, Webster Print and Harmon Golf.
Says Phyllis "Thanks to all!"
Paula Harris,WH Cornerstone, www.whcornerstone.com, would like to
thank Julie Foley, The Consultant of Style and Bob

You
Snoozed, We Schmoozed by
Judy Siddell

Hey
guys it's me, your favorite mortgage broker! OK really...you know what
they say about March, "in like a lion and out like a lamb." Frankly,
I'm wondering where the lamb is, as I listen to forecasts about snowstorms.
I don't know about you, but I'm ready to sit on the beach and bask in
the sunshine. But until then, I plan to network my heart out and what
better place than the South Shore Women's Business Network? If you were
still in hibernation mode this month, you missed the chance to meet
lots of new people and learn about many interesting businesses. So get
out the Joe and wake up this month - we've got a lot of great things
going on! Here's what you missed...
Lantana Lunch: This is the up and coming event within the Network.
We had 32 people who were engaged in focused networking and ready to
do business. Patrick Van Tyle, the founder of Van Tyle Business Solutions
was an excellent presenter and gave us useful insight into his business
and industry. Patrick helps business owners with the development of
practical strategies to increase profitability-and who doesn't like
profitability? Get into the next big thing this month and don't miss
the Lantana lunch - Monday, April 4th.
Blackfin Lunch: Folks, if you have been attending all these meetings
than you know this network is doing extremely well. The South Shore
WOMEN'S Business Network is being attended by a lot of MEN. I'm not
surprised - we're the best on the South Shore. Wayne Cerra of Total
Home Inspection was a dynamic speaker and is clearly very passionate
and knowledgeable about his business. We had 67 people this month and
that number is only going to grow. Word is getting out about the network
as well as this event, so don't delay in getting yourself registered.
The next Blackfin lunch is Tuesday, April 12th, come and get your business
in front of the best networkers on the South Shore!
East Bay Grille Lunch: We had another large group at this event with
just as many new faces as the Blackfin lunch. The membership team is
on fire! We ARE the premier networking organization on the South Shore,
so who wouldn't want to be at one of our events? Laura Willis passed
out some creative reminders of spring and did a very informative presentation
on branding your business. I know I'll use some of her ideas. We'll
be meeting for our next lunch in Plymouth on Wednesday, April 20th.
Come on down, take in the view and get your business noticed!
Breakfast Event: This event is held the fourth Tuesday of each month.
At press time we weren't there yet, so you'll need to come and see for
yourself the opportunity it presents. The average attendance is 65 people;
so don't miss it - Tuesday, March 29th at the Radisson in Rockland.
TEXAS HOLD 'EM: Wednesday, April 6th don't miss the "Networking
You Betcha" event at the Radisson in Rockland - Be a part of the
hottest "sport" to hit ESPN, the celebrity circuit and every
home around the country. Carl Menconi and Judy Davis of Integrated Massage
Therapies will be providing chair massages- the minimum donation for
a chair massage will be $1 per minute and all proceeds will go to the
South Shore Women's Business Network Educational Foundation. (For more
information on the foundation, contact Jane Ford.) We'll have heavy
hors d' oeuvres, a cash bar and lots of networking so come on down!!
Until next month... No more snoozing, let's get schmoozing!!
